So we decided to make/decorate cookies. I'm not sure if she's doing much decorating in between the eating of the frosting...
Oh yeah, I bought that silly christmas light necklace for her to wear to her school holiday party. Of course, I couldn't find it come day of the party. So now after christmas I found it...............:)
but I will try to make it up and if I need to I will change this to a 52 week blog, (but hopefully not :))
There is so much snow and cold, but the sun is shining and it's really beautiful. Even though it's 3 degrees, the sun is melting the icicles at Shaylee's school. I helped in her room this morning and then had lunch with her and just had to snap these beautiful things.
Shaylee is really enjoying playing games recently. Can't say I'm too crazy about this Clue game we just got. No real way to properly move around the board, but who cares? She loves it.
One other funny comment. Jeff has to wear reading glasses now and he absolutely hates it. I bought him some new ones and I was looking at him and notice this line around them! He didn't remove the stickers that were on the glasses that peel off. lol
16 years ago today, I met my husband, Jeff. I was with a bunch of girlfriends at a bar watching Nebraska play for the National Championship. The whole bar was filled with red. I saw a lone guy watching a game on a tiny tv across the room on the side. (UCLA). I saw him sitting there alone and walked over to him and told him "if he could find a chair, he could join us." Well I think he stole a chair from someone who stood up to cheer a play (lol) and joined us.
He told me that after he cheered a play by Florida (alone)--- and everyone stared him down, that he finally realized who the helmets with the plain ole' N stood for. He was born & raised in California and had just arrived to Lincoln to be closer to his children who had moved here with his ex. Come to find out, his kids went to the same school as mine and I knew them from Boy Scouts. We've been together ever since.
We've been through many ups & downs including the loss of his 22-year-old son, Jeffery, two years ago to cancer and the birth of our daughter almost 6 years ago. Life has been fabulous and horrible but we are hanging in there. He takes care of us and my children love him same as if he was their father. So without further ado, this is my man, Jeff!
Happy Anniversary Jeff! (We really married only 6 years ago in February--but we celebrate 16 years of together on January 1st).
